Show Notes

I am delighted to welcome Dr. Cathalene Bowler to the podcast! Dr. Bowler is Assistant Professor of Accounting in the College of Business at the University of Northern Iowa. She teaches the income tax course and the managerial accounting and co-leads the VITAL program - which is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program where accounting majors  prepare tax returns for free for the local community. Cathi also has 11 years of military experience in the U.S. Army.

In this episode, Cathi describes creative teaching strategies she uses, such as the flipped classroom and opportunity drills. She also shares that, when we are responsive to the diverse learning needs of students, we may find out that "the weakest link in your class may turn out to be your strongest link because they can be just as bright as the brightest student."
